Pasco County Business Development Overview

Pasco County is experiencing explosive growth in all sectors of the economy. The business community and environment is also changing dramatically. Historically, Pasco was a retirement and bedroom community to the Tampa Bay region. Today Pasco is in the path of growth, and is "the land of opportunity" for the region. Pasco is thriving with new residential, retail, commercial, industrial and office growth.

With an abundance of land, executive housing, new planned communities and a significant labor pool of over 176,000 well trained workers (of which 50% commute daily outside the county for work), corporate and industrial businesses are recognizing the opportunity expand or relocate facilities in Pasco County. Pasco County is currently the 8th fastest growing county in the United States.

In order to prepare for this growth, Pasco County government officials and the PEDC recently spearheaded changes to the local comprehensive plan identifying 10 new employment center sites to be strategically located near major transportation corridors. Click to view the Employment Center Map.

Pasco County now has an inventory of nearly 12,000 acres currently preserved for industrial and corporate office use. Several new master planned industrial and corporate office parks are either currently under development or on the drawing board.
