Pasco County Public Schools

This year, the District School Board of Pasco County proudly earned district accreditation from SACS-CASI.  Pasco became one of only seven districts in the state to earn this prestigious distinction and is reflective of a progressive and systemic focus on student achievement.

The district's Points of Pride include:

  • 54 Pasco County schools earned Golden School Awards
  • 34 Pasco County schools earned As under the Florida School Recognition Plan
  • 70% of the schools in the State of Florida earned an outstanding school grade of an A or B
  • 37 Pasco teachers achieved National Board Certification in January of 2007, which brings a total of over 165 teachers in the district who have achieved the highest level of teacher certification.
  • The Pasco Educaion Foundation, Inc. supported the students, teachers and programs of the school system with over $350,000 in classroom grants and scholarships for student and employees, curriculum and academic contests and recognition events.
  • Due to the district's sound financial performance, Moody's Investors Services, Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's Rating Services assigned ratings of A2, A1 and A, respectively to the Series 2007 Certificates of Participation.
  • The Head Start Program received the National Program of Excellence Award.  The award recognizes Head Start Programs that exceed national standards and implement new initiatives to support students and their families.
  • Pasco has 64,177 students (Pre-K through 12 grade)

 Pasco is now the 13th largest school district in the State of Florida and the 60th largest in the nation.  There are a total of 76 schools:  43 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, 11 high schools, 4 specialized education centers and 4 charger schools.
