PEDC Releases Annual Existing Industry Survey
The PEDC recently completed its annual Existing Industry Survey. Each year, PEDC surveys Pasco-based manufacturers and related industries to get reliable information that can be used to identify the needs of the manufacturing community. In the past, PEDC has been able to respond to the needs of the manufacturing community by providing exporting assistance, designing training programs and providing information about financing and tax incentives.
The results of this year’s survey is exciting. Many companies plan to increase employment, expand facilities, add new products and invest in new equipment. Most – a full 75% - consider Pasco County a good or excellent place to do business citing our centralized location, access to target markets and the availability of land and labor.
As in previous years, Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council assisted PEDC by conducting an economic impact study based on the results of the survey. Overall, the companies represented in the survey contribute $120 million to Pasco County’s Gross County Product. A total of 2,951 employees generated (directly, indirectly and induced) $76 million in personal income. Of those companies reporting, employees earned an average wage of $36,151.
